We participated in an activity to reinforce our knowledge of the rock cycle. We followed a rock on its journey through the rock cycle. If you were absent, begin wherever you want, roll a dice and follow the instructions for the number you rolled.

The students also took a quiz on characteristics of minerals, rocks and the rock cycle. After completing the quiz we graded them and entered them into powerschool. The students took notes today learning about the different types of rocks. They glued the notes into their notebooks and did a bookwork activity on rocks.
4-1 Bookwork The students began their new unit on Geology today. We looked at the characteristics of minerals and how to identify one. We followed the notes with an identification lab.

See yesterday's post if you were absent to complete the assignment. Remember...NO SCHOOL THURSDAY OR FRIDAY! We worked through another One Hour Mystery called "Who Stole the Video Game?". We looked at evidence from the crime scene to make inferences as to who was the culprit. We will solve logic puzzles and decode messages as we come to our conclusion.

Today was a STEM building challenge. The objective was to build a basketball tower out of newspaper and masking tape. The tower should be at least 1 ruler length high and cannot use any other materials except those given. Below are some great examples! Our Winners are shown below with a total height of 72cm!! We used today to get caught up for the quarter. If you have a C- or below you were in Mrs. Sandovals classroom working on missing assignments. If you were a C or above, you were in my room playing games or watching a movie. Today is the last day to turn in work for this quarter.
