Ice Age Movie Guide
We watched Ice Age today looking for some scientific principles that we have been learning about. We watched for characteristics of the main characters, fossils, habitats, and volcanoes. If you were absent, watch the movie and complete the movie guide.
Ice Age Movie Guide A tessellation is an arrangement of shapes closely fitted together in a repeated pattern without gaps or overlapping. This is similar to the crystalline structure you see in minerals. You will create your own tessellation today using a template. Color your tessellation in a repeating pattern so there are no gaps in the design. A few examples are shown for you.
Tessellation Templates Fossils are the remains or traces of organisms that lived long ago. We talked today about different ways fossils are made. Use the power point to complete your notes. Many of these involve the ability to provide the relative ages of strata or the manner in which they were formed. We will use these principles to determine which event occurred first.

Erosion Bookwork We learned about different agents of erosion today by taking some notes. We then reviewed our notes with a Bill Nye Video. Use the periodic table and what you know about chemical symbols and formulas to complete the table on the worksheet. Remember that the subscript only applies to the element in front of it.
Mineral Makeup We talked about weathering today by taking some notes and followed up with bookwork to review what we had learned.
