Erosion Bookwork
We worked through a bookwork activity to solidify our knowledge of the different types of erosion.
Erosion Bookwork We learned about different agents of erosion today by taking some notes. We then reviewed our notes with a Bill Nye Video. Use the Erosion power point to complete the notes, then watch the video. Erosion Notes Template Erosion Notes Power Point Today we looked at the elements that make up minerals and rocks. Use the periodic table and what you know about chemical symbols and formulas to complete the table on the worksheet. Remember that the subscript only applies to the element in front of it.
Mineral Makeup We talked about weathering today by taking some notes and followed up with bookwork to review what we had learned.

We followed a rock on its journey through the rock cycle. If you were absent, begin wherever you want, roll a dice and follow the instructions for the number you rolled.

The students also took a quiz on characteristics of minerals, rocks and the rock cycle. After completing the quiz we graded them and entered them into powerschool. The students took notes today learning about the different types of rocks. They glued the notes into their notebooks and did a bookwork activity on rocks.
4-1 Bookwork The students began their new unit on Geology today. We looked at the characteristics of minerals and how to identify one. We followed the notes with an identification lab.
