Energy Demo: The videos below will cover each of the following Demonstrations Magnesium Demo Balloon Demo Magic Wand Dry Ice Sodium The Worm The students glued in phase change notes into their notebook. After we discussed what happens during phase changes the students logged into their Google Classroom and completed the "Phase Changes Practice" assignment.
The students took their Quiz 8.1.4 wrapping up our section on Natural Resources. We also completed a notebook check. Each student checked their notebooks for completed notes that are glued into their notebooks. The notebook check was worth 50 points (5 points for each set of notes).
If you were absent: See Mrs. Sandoval for the Quiz The students opened class watching a short video on how plastics are made. They then took notes observing traits of each classification of plastic. They looked through a series of plastics representing each PET number and glued their findings into their notebooks. Below is a chart showing the various plastic numbers and the materials they are used for. Observing Plastic Notes The students spent Day Two of synthetic materials lab looking at types of ropes.

How it's made Videos: In class today we read articles about how we use natural resources to create synthetic materials for our everyday lives. These materials included: kevlar, rubber, diapers, etc.
